Sarah Hurt is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Missouri – Columbia, working in the lab of Christian and Monique Lorson. She earned her PhD in Molecular Genetics and Genomics from Washington University in St. Louis, where she focused on Treatment Modifications and Development for Mucopolysaccharidosis Type I with an emphasis on Precision Medicine. Her research interests include rare monogenic diseases, viral vector development, and translational consequences of genetic mutations.
She has received numerous awards including the Society for Neuroscience Trainee Professional Development Award and the WORLD Symposium Young Investigator Award. Her work has been published in journals such as Molecular Therapy Methods & Clinical Development and Nature Communications.
